Day Fifteen: For the Joy Set Before HIM, You

“…looking unto Jesus, the author and ]finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2

This one Scripture says so much in a few words. Let us dissect it together. 

KING JESUS is the author (originator) and finisher (perfector) of our faith. HE is the LAMB that was slain from the foundation of the earth, see Revelation 13:8. KING JESUS, the WORD made flesh (human) that dwelt among us, John 1:14, was, from the beginning, the plan of GOD for the redemption of mankind. Adam’s rebellion did not take GOD – FATHER, SON, HOLY SPIRIT – by surprise. There was already a plan: KING JESUS CHRIST. 

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” John 3:16-18

To complete the plan of redemption, KING JESUS CHRIST had to fulfill all that was written about HIM in Scripture from generations before HIS manifestation on the earth. There is a period of about 700 years between Isaiah’s prophesies to KING JESUS’ manifestation. 

KING JESUS authored our faith by suffering at the cross. HE finished our faith with resurrection. 

For the joy set before HIM, HE endured the Cross and despised the shame.

Our KING endured the Cross. HE could have come down at any time. HE could have said, “Thanks but no thanks.” HE asked the FATHER three times “if this cup can pass over me” (Matthew 26:36-46), but HE chose to give HIMSELF for us such that non-Jews could access the blessing of the earth through Abraham, and the mercies of GOD through David. 

But what was the “joy set before HIM?” What would GOD gain by the offer of salvation made available to mankind? 

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”

1 Peter 2:9-10

“For you are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.” Deuteronomy 7:6

“Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. 6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.” Exodus 19:5-6

You and I, the special treasure of GOD, the kings and priests unto the LORD, are the reason why JESUS allowed Romans to beat HIM beyond recognition with the whip and stones HE spoke into existence, and nail HIM to a cross made of wood HE created. 

That is how deep HIS love is for us, that HE would prove HIS love in BLOOD. This sacrifice made a way for us to enter into the abondance of GOD, into the blessings of GOD, into the mercies of GOD. 

Today, post-resurrection, KING JESUS CHRIST is sitting at the Right Hand of the Throne of GOD, as the HIGH PRIEST of our confession (Hebrews 3:1), continuously making intercession for us (Romans 8:34).

Thank YOU, KING JESUS CHRIST.

Prayer:

Thank YOU, KING JESUS CHRIST, for enduring the Cross so that I could enter into the Blessings of Abraham and the Mercies of David. Thank YOU, LORD, for the suffering YOU endured such that I, we, could be saved. 

When the LORD dropped the story of Sanballat and Tobiah in my spirit, I felt it should be like a call and response. The call would be the verse, and my response will be talking about that very verse or verses. We will cover the first eight verses of Nehemiah 6 today, and we will wrap it up tomorrow.

Verses 1-2

“Now it was reported to Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem the Arabian, and the rest of our enemies that I had rebuilt the wall and no breach remained in it—even though at that time I had not positioned the doors in the gates. 2 Sanballat and Geshem sent word to me, saying, ‘Come, let us meet together in one of the villages in the plain of Ono.’ But they were scheming to do me harm.”

Response: Nehemiah had just finished rebuilding the walls of the temple, but still, the work was not complete. The enemy had sent out hounds to sniff around, monitoring their progress. Noticing that the gates were about to be put up and this would cut off their access, they wanted to send a distraction.

When all is said and done, the battle has been fought and won, do NOT relax. Make sure you are standing firm. The enemy will make sure that restoration is not full; he still wants access and seeing that open door is all he needs. He wants to make sure that there is still an opening for other demons to come in that have left. So, the restoration of your doors and gates is very important. Do not leave anything unattended.

“Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” Ephesians 6:13

I mentioned this verse a few days ago, and the HOLY SPIRIT keeps bringing it back up. Remain guarded; make sure your feet stand firm. When you have done all you are supposed to do, make sure you are still standing; no sitting or relaxing is allowed. As you can see here in Nehemiah 6, there was no time to sit back; he had to keep working to make sure the gates were complete.

Verse 3

“So I sent messengers to them saying, ‘I am doing an important work, so I cannot come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you?’”

Response: How do you respond when life starts questioning your devotion to the LORD, your standing? We make sure we are filling ourselves with the Word and with prayer. Do not leave your secret place, the Word, or stop fasting. Once again, stay guarded.

Verses 6-7

“It has been heard among the nations—and Geshem substantiates it—that you and the Jews are planning to revolt. That is why you are rebuilding the wall. Furthermore, according to these reports, you are to become their king 7 and have even appointed prophets to make this proclamation about you in Jerusalem saying, ‘There is a king in Judah.’ Now, the king is going to hear about these reports. So come now! Let us confer together.”

Response: Sanballat proceeds to come up with lies so he could instill fear in Nehemiah. If the king heard that Nehemiah was trying to be king and not go back to serving him, that would be big trouble for him.

Verse 8

“Then I sent a message to him, saying, ‘Nothing like what you are saying is happening; you are devising them from your own heart.’”

Response: Can you identify when satan starts coming up with lies and accusations? Do you know what the Word says about you? Do you know how to respond? Make sure you never leave the secret place. We should increase our time here.

This is the time, brethren, to increase our time in prayer, in the Word, and fasting. May the LORD strengthen you and me, in JESUS’ Name. Amen.

Prayer:

Open our eyes, LORD; let us be cognizant of the devices of the enemy. Let us not get swept up in the lies of the enemy. Help us, oh LORD, to be on alert and watch for patterns in the attacks that come our way. Our spiritual senses will be heightened and always discerning, in JESUS’ Name. Amen.

Yesterday, we recognized that we need to be on alert and also need to be able to identify patterns of the enemy around us. Today, we continue with the story of Nehemiah and the restoration of the wall of the Temple with Nehemiah 6:10-16.

Verses 10-11

“Then I went to the house of Shemaiah, son of Delaiah, son of Mehetabel. He was confined to his home. He said, ‘Let us meet in the House of God, within the Temple. Let us shut the doors of the Temple, for they are coming to kill you. Indeed, they will come to kill you at night.’ 11 But I said, ‘Should a man like me flee? Who in my position could go into the Temple and live? I will not go in.’”

Response: In the place of restoration, let us be careful and be discerning. Watch for patterns. Nehemiah was able to see through the ‘prophecy’ that was given to him. He did the right thing; he went to the home of a prophet for counsel but thank GOD that he was able to spot the lie. Nehemiah was not a priest – why would he go into the Temple? Let us watch out for false counsel, as one of my very best friends puts it; she is careful talking to people during seasons because she does not want mixture. She wants to make sure she is only hearing from GOD.

“Your ears will hear a word behind you saying: ‘This is the way, walk in it. When you turn to the right, or when you turn to the left.’” Isaiah 30:21

Verse 12

“I recognized that God had not really sent him, for he had pronounced the prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him.”

Response: Can you identify the strange voice or strange counsel? What strange thoughts fill your mind, and you take it as the Word of GOD? We are to sift and weigh every word that we hear. Do you know the counsel of the LORD? Can you spot the false counsel? If Nehemiah had trusted the office of this prophet and followed him to the Temple that night, he would have been killed. This is going to be one of our prayer points.

Verse 13

“He had been hired so that I might become so frightened that I would do this and thereby sin. Then they would give me a bad name in order to discredit me.”

Response: Nehemiah understood what the goal of the enemy was; he saw the progression. The first was that he was to be fearful, then sin (go into the Temple), which he was not to do. The enemy wanted to give him a bad name so he could be discredited. The enemy’s goal is to bring accusations against the saints in the Courts of Heaven. That defeated foe tries constantly to discredit us. Once we are fearful, it is very easy to speak words of doubt and make decisions that are not what the LORD wants and expects from us.

Verse 14

“Remember, my God, Tobiah and Sanballat according to these works of theirs, and also the prophetess Noadiah and the rest of the prophets who have been trying to intimidate me.”

Response: He (satan) works overtime to intimidate us; remember, he walks around like a roaring lion. Can you differentiate between the roar of the LION of Judah and the roar of the fake lion? He has mastered the art of being a fake lion. Remember, he has been around before man was created. He has had ample time to study us, so he knows if he can intimidate us, and we are fearful, that he has won.

Verses 15-16

“So the wall was completed on the twenty-fifth day of the month Elul, in just 52 days. 16 When all our enemies heard, all the surrounding nations were afraid and fell greatly in their own eyes, because they realized that this work had been accomplished by our God.”

Response: The speed at which Nehemiah and the people completed the wall was amazing. Even their enemies realized that GOD did this work. Do not be discouraged, saints, keep your eyes fixed on JESUS. Our testimony of restoration causes fear in the circles of the enemy. Hallelujah! Restoration!

Prayer:

JESUS, as we draw near the end of this fast, let us remain guarded in the spirit. Help us, LORD, to be able to sift through the noise, the words we hear. We want to identify YOUR Voice. Let us be able to see the plot of the enemy and beat him with faith in YOU, in JESUS’ Name. Our testimony will be shared in the Courts of Heaven, just as GOD bragged about Job, JESUS, we want to make YOU proud. Amen.

 “For the message of the cross … is the power of God.” 1 Corinthians 1:18 TLV

Recently, I have been asking GOD, “Where is the power of old?” The kind of power where people would bring those who were sick and lay them in the streets so that at least Peter’s shadow would fall on some of them (Acts 5:15). The kind of power where aprons and handkerchiefs that touched Paul’s skin would be taken to the sick, and they would be healed and delivered from evil spirits (Acts 19:11-12). Where is the power that will heal the sick in the hospitals as we walk up and down the halls? Where is the power that will deliver the captives as we drive through the city streets? Where is this power?

In response, the LORD was merciful and took me through a three-step process.

First, repentance. John 13 tells the account of JESUS washing the feet of HIS disciples. This was ordinarily the job of a servant. Since most of the travel of that day was done on foot, dirt would naturally cover their feet. When guests entered a house, the servant would wash the guests’ feet to cleanse and refresh them. So, by the time it was Peter’s turn to have his feet washed, “Peter said to him, ‘You shall never wash my feet.’ Jesus answered him, ‘If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.’ 9 Simon Peter said to him, ‘Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!’ 10 Jesus said to him, ‘The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet, but is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you.’” John 13:8-10

As the disciples consistently needed their feet washed to be completely clean of the dirt, so this repentance is a consistent repentance – asking GOD to cleanse us and separate us from those things we’ve become associated with simply by living our daily lives in this world. 

Next, worship. After repenting of everything that would separate me from GOD (Isaiah 59:2), the HOLY SPIRIT drew me into a place of complete worship. I had a vision in which I was in the heavenlies. The angels joined in a beautiful chorus of worship, and I felt such joyful excitement as we bowed down and lined a pathway. I heard in my spirit that the KING of Glory is coming! The KING of Glory is coming! The KING of Glory is coming! Hallelujah!

Finally, the answer. As I was in a place of complete worship, my eyes fell to a communion cup with grape juice. And the LORD spoke and simply said, “It’s in the Blood.” The power that I was seeking is in the Blood of JESUS. It is not simply through the Blood, but in the Blood! I began interceding for people and taking them into the Blood! For this is where the Power of GOD is accessed. This is how the Power of GOD is released. This is why the Power of GOD is available to you and to me. Because of the Blood of JESUS. 

And isn’t this the message of the Cross – the Blood of JESUS – which is the power of GOD (1 Corinthians 1:18).

“In the same way, He also took the cup, after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant IN MY BLOOD. Do this, as often as you drink it, in memory of Me.’” 1 Corinthians 11:25 TLV [emphasis added].

Prayer:

LORD JESUS, thank YOU for YOUR Blood. Thank YOU for YOUR great sacrifice for me. Thank YOU for taking us through this journey for the past three weeks in which YOU have broken generational cycles and restored generational blessings. This was only possible because of the power that is IN YOUR BLOOD. May I continue to access this power, as I remain in YOUR Blood of the new covenant. In JESUS’ Name. Amen.

“He wiped out the handwritten record of debts with the decrees against us, which was hostile to us. He took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 After disarming the principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in the cross.” Colossians 2:14-15 TLV

Wow! What a display of the power of GOD! What a promise! What authority! 

When GOD gave the law to Moses, HE inscribed the law on tablets of stone with HIS finger (Exodus 31:18). The passage of Scripture in Colossians indicates that each of us has a handwritten record. On it is written the law (decrees), along with a lengthy list of how we have broken the law – all of our sins and iniquities. This is our debt – a debt which is impossible for us to pay. And yet…JESUS!!!

“Now the sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the Torah [law]. 57 But thanks be to God, who keeps giving us the victory through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah!” 1 Corinthians 15:56-57 TLV

Not only did JESUS wipe away our debt…HE entirely and completely paid our debt for us, nailing it publicly to the Cross! In fact, when HE was on the cross, right before HE died, HE uttered the words, “It is finished” (John 19:30). The Greek word for this phrase means to bring to a close, to finish, to end, especially as refers to a debt. In other words, KING JESUS, through HIS death, fully satisfied the FATHER’s justice by dying in payment for our sins. HIS redemption is complete. In fact, these sins that are under the Blood can never again be punished by death, as that would violate GOD’s justice. They can only be punished and paid once, by a substitute or by yourself. 

In doing so, our substitute, KING JESUS, also took away all of the ammunition and accusations of the principalities and powers that stood against us. It’s as if terrorists came against us with machine guns, and JESUS stepped right in and took away all of their weapons. They are absolutely powerless, hallelujah!

In fact, HE made a public spectacle of them! Just like with Moses and the Red Sea, Joshua and Jericho, Elijah and the showdown at Mt Carmel. And so, we pray: LORD, make a public spectacle of my enemies – YOUR enemies – in my life and in the lives of my children, in JESUS’ Name, such that all may glorify YOUR Name and know that YOU have won the victory!

Now comes our responsibility. Now that KING JESUS has fully paid our debt, disarmed the powers, and made a public spectacle of the enemy…now that HE has broken generational cycles, and restored generational blessings, now that HE has done the hard work…it’s up to us to keep our covenant and walk in obedience with HIM. See:

“For if we keep on sinning willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but only a terrifying expectation of judgment and a fury of fire about to devour the enemies of God.” Hebrews 10:26-27

For those who choose to walk in obedience, may this encourage you to continue in your steadfast pursuit of our LORD and KING:

“Therefore, my dearly loved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord—because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 TLV

Prayer:

KING JESUS, thank YOU for paying my debt, fully and completely, at the Cross. No longer can my sins be held against me, hallelujah! I choose this day to walk in obedience to YOU in honor of our covenant. In JESUS’ Name. Amen.

“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”: 8 “I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.”’” Revelation 3:7-8

Throughout this 21-day prayer and fasting for our youth and young adults, the LORD walked us through praying to access covenants. The covenant of blessing through Abraham and the covenant of mercy through David. All this, KING JESUS CHRIST gave us access to through HIS sacrifice and resurrection. 

Soon, the fast will be over. How do we use this knowledge and experience these covenants in our daily lives? How will it manifest in the natural (physical) realm. The Key of David. 

David became king over Israel after many battles with Ishbosheth, son of Saul, and his house. At first, the only tribe that followed David was his kinsmen, Judah. Eventually, the rest of the 11 tribes were unified under his banner. Again, there were battles in which David had to prove to the people he was bold and courageous, and GOD had to prove that David was HIS choice. How did HE do this? By giving David noticeable victories over all his enemies, and favor in the eyes of other nations and kings. 

“So David went on and became great, and the Lord God of hosts was with him.11 Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters and masons. And they built David a house. 12 So David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel, and that He had exalted His kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.” 2 Samuel 5:10-12

When GOD talks about using the key of David on our behalf, HE is talking about authority to rule nations – governmental authority. Scripture does not tell us of any kings of foreign nations willingly coming to build a house for Saul or Ishbosheth. The king of Tyre was not stupid. The nations around Isreal saw the GOD of Israel choose a shepherd musician boy to be king over millions of people at the age of 30. They wanted the favor of this one whom GOD HIMSELF had favored. Sounds like the same GOD who made a servant into a queen in the space of 12 months. It took Esther 12 months to replace Vashti, only because the beauty treatments were a year in length (Esther 2:12). 

The church in Philadelphia was the faithful church, serving with everything they had, loving GOD even when it was difficult, keeping HIS Word even when it was not convenient, and enduring persecution from the hands of the Jews – modern day religious folk. 

GOD promised that HE would make those people come and bow at their feet so that everyone would know of HIS love for the Philadelphian church. Sounds like what the king of Tyre did to David. I see a pattern here, do you? Let’s see if the Scriptures can spell it out for us clearly. 

“In mercy and truth atonement is provided for iniquity; and by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil. 7 When a man’s ways please the Lord, HE makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:6-7

Prayer:

As we finish this prayer and fasting segment, be sure to continue praying: LORD, use the Key of David on my behalf. Let me see the tangible manifestations of the blessings of Abraham and the mercies of David in my life. I want all of my enemies, shame, disgrace, wars inside and out, financial, health, national, international, marriage troubles, lost children…if it is troubling me, it’s an enemy. I want to see all my enemies coming to bow at my feet, in KING JESUS’ Name. I want to see the tangible manifestation of the downfall of satan. Let all the situations troubling me come and bow at my feet. Open doors of opportunity and access to YOU, LORD, and to all other things YOU have planned for me, and shut doors to the wrong things, motives, decisions. In KING JESUS’ Name. 

“Jesus said to him, ‘Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, “Show us the Father”? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.’” John 14:9-10

In John 14, KING JESUS was teaching HIS disciples and telling them HIS physical body would be leaving soon. Naturally, they didn’t understand what HE meant – and KING JESUS was ok with that. HE knew they would understand later when they began to experience the events HE was preparing them for. Only then would HIS Words come flooding back to give peace because HE told them the end from the beginning. 

However, Philip asked a question that shocked KING JESUS. He said, “… show us the FATHER…” From here, KING JESUS began to explain to the disciples how HE had operated for the three years of HIS teaching, preaching, and miracles ministry. Everything KING JESUS did was demonstrating the FATHER so that we could experience the FATHER through the SON. 

The Greek word translated as known is “egnōkas,”meaning to know experientially with a personal relationship. This has the same connotation as the Hebrew word, “yā·ḏa‘,” which is also used to describe intimate relationships. 

KING JESUS was saying: YOU should know the FATHER because if HE were standing here, the words that HE would speak and the things HE would do, I am doing. This is the same thing the LORD wants for HIS Body.

“So Jesus said to them again, ‘Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.’ 22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’” John 20:21-22

While on one of the prayer lines, I had a vision and saw a person wearing a shirt and tie. In traditional superhero fashion, they pulled the shirt open, not to expose a superhero costume, but light. The light was so bright and powerful that it picked the person up and they started flying on the strength of that light. 

What does this mean? You and I are the light of the world. KING JESUS is looking for us to carry HIM into the world just like HE carried the FATHER into the world. We are LIGHT carriers of HIS mobile temple.

On this last day of the 21-day prayer and fasting for our children, youth, and young adults. Let us ask ourselves, when the younger generation interacts with me – here the words I say and see the things I do, do they see the light of the KING, or do they simply see you? 

Prayer:

Thank YOU, KING JESUS CHRIST, for helping me make it through these 21-days of separation and reverence unto YOU. As I leave this spiritual exercise, I thank HOLY SPIRIT for carrying me through it. Now, HOLY SPIRIT help me to take all I have learned, the spiritual milage I have gained, and shine in my home, family, community, Body of CHIRST, and nation. YOU have equipped me to carry YOU into the world, HOLY SPIRIT, please help me to do it, amen. 

 For those who have journeyed with WeRemnant/Remnant Tribe, the Biblical concept of altars is not new to you. We studied the personal and corporate altars many times. Occasionally, we taught on territorial/national altars. Over the course of the next 21days of corporate prayer, fasting, and obedience, we shall dive even deeper into the concept of altars from a family / genealogy / Body of CHRIST perspective. Specifically, how to identify the altars in your families and ministries, their speaking’s (yes, altars speak), how to break demonic ones, and finally, how to erect holy altars.

Let’s begin with a quick refresher.

What Is an Altar?

An altar is a meeting place of mankind and spirits. This is the gateway / door / access point between the spirit realm and the physical realm. The first altar in Scripture was Eden. There, ADONAI ELOHIM (The LORD GOD) met with Adam (man and woman) in the cool of the day (see Genesis 2 and Genesis 3:8). The separation of man into man and woman happened in Genesis 2:21-22 when GOD took man’s rib and built (created) woman from the raw materials of Eden plus man’s rib. Before this surgery, there was one physical body with the breath of GOD in it. That man met with GOD in Eden. The original altar, Eden, didn’t require sacrifice. There was no sin. However, when sin entered, a sacrifice was needed for us to connect to the spirit realm. The doors of Eden were shut, and we could no longer walk in and out of the FACE (PRESENCE) of GOD without blood (see Genesis 20-24). Interestingly, the first time the name “Adam” was used in the Hebrew Bible versions was after sin entered the picture. But that is a different teaching for another time.

The first time we see altars outside of Eden is when Cain and Abel built altars unto GOD.

“Then she gave birth again, to his brother Abel. Abel became a shepherd of flocks while Cain became a worker of the ground. 3 So it happened after some time that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to Adonai, 4 while Abel—he also brought of the firstborn of his flock and their fat portions. Now Adonai looked favorably upon Abel and his offering, 5 but upon Cain and his offering He did not look favorably. Cain became very angry, and his countenance fell.” Genesis 4:2-5

Notice something here. Cain brought what he worked for, what he liked: the food of men. At this time, men only ate fruits and vegetables. There was no release for mankind to eat animals until after the LORD terraformed the earth through the flood at the time of Noah (see Genesis 9:1-4). On the other hand, Abel brought what GOD required. He was a shepherd for the purpose of sacrifices, clothing, and fertilizing the earth, and of course, pets. I’m sure there were other functions, but these are the logical core ones. Abel brought what he knew GOD would want, not what he liked.

Altars Have Rules.

1. The sacrifice on the altar is determined by the spirit – holy or demonic – to be contacted. It is their altar, and the human is the attendant, also called the priest. 

Demonic priests can be broken down into witches, warlocks, soothsayers, necromancers, sorcerers, diviners, etc. They access the spirit realm through altars, determine price for specific tasks, facilitate the payment of that price, then send the spirits to do things on behalf of their followers, congregations, etc. Demonic priests stand between their demon gods and the people who worship them. 

We are priests of the holy altar. We are called apostles, prophets (and intercessors), evangelists, teachers, and pastors. We perform the same function as demonic priests, except the SPIRIT we attend to is the KING SPIRIT and HE cannot be sent on errands. Rather, we request mercy, entreat HIS favor, remind HIM of HIS WORD, and bring our lives into agreement with HIS WORD, such that HE will do for us what HE desires, according to our asking, seeking, and knocking.

GOD already told Adam and Eve the sacrifice HE wanted: blood. GOD HIMSELF killed an animal and used the skin to clothe them. The parents must have taught their children, Cain and Abel. How else would they know? Therefore, the first place children learn to worship GOD is at home through the parents, not at Sunday school or from the children’s ministry leaders.

Notice the LORD GOD did not accept Cain’s sacrifice. Rather, HE accepted Abel’s because it was what HE wanted.

2. An altar is not an altar until a spirit – holy or demonic – responds to the sacrifice. If one spirit rejects it, another spirit will accept it. GOD rejected Cain’s altar but sin (a spirit), accepted it. Therefore, Cain was the first to raise up a demonic altar.

“Then Adonai said to Cain, ‘Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7 If you do well, it will lift. But if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the doorway. Its desire is for you, but you must master it.’” Genesis 4:6-7

3. The type of spirit initially contacted, and the type of sacrifice initially offered, will determine if it is a holy or demonic altar. When Israel built an idol to the golden calf in the desert, it didn’t manifest its character in the people until they built an altar to it. Even though Aaron, the priest of GOD, said it was an altar to the LORD, GOD rejected it and said the people have become debased (humiliated). The worship of idols humiliates us.

“Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him, ‘Get up, make us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what’s become of him!’ … 5 When Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it. Then Aaron made a proclamation saying, ‘Tomorrow will be a feast to Adonai.’ 6They rose up early the next morning, sacrificed burnt offerings and brought fellowship offerings. The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to make merry. 7 Then Adonai said to Moses, ‘Go down! For your people, whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have become debased.’” Exodus 32:1, 5-7

4. The altar will manifest the spirit initially contacted. Meaning, if it is a holy altar, it will manifest the holy things spoken into it. The holy agreements (covenants) made between the HOLY SPIRIT and the initial priest of the altar speak or manifest forever until terms of the covenant are violated. Then it will stop speaking. The same rule applies for a demonic spirit. The altar Abram erected in Canaan was speaking the same things to Jacob, his grandson, over a 120 years later.

“Then Adonai appeared to Abram, and said, ‘I will give this land to your seed.’ So there he built an altar to Adonai, who had appeared to him.” Genesis 12:7

“Surprisingly, Adonai was standing on top of it and He said, ‘I am Adonai, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. The land on which you lie, I will give it to you and to your seed.’” Genesis 28:13

5. Spirits are jealous they do not share altars. For demonic altars, their priests often must construct multiple altars to contact different spirits (false gods), depending on what they are requesting. That’s why there is the altar of baal, ashteroth, ogun, moloch, the goat god bathemat, etc. Each god has their abilities limited to specific outcomes – fertility, wealth, abundant harvests, victory in war, etc. 

We, priests to the KING of kings, only need ONE Altar, which is, the Altar of the Cross. Why? Because our GOD is not limited. HE is MASTER of everything and RULER over all the affairs of men.

6. Spirits do not die, and each altar has a priesthood. The speaking’s of the altar continue long after the original priest dies. The altar is still active and will respond to someone with bloodline rights, or with knowledge of that priesthood (the way of worship on that altar). An example is the Altar of the Cross. The BLOOD sacrifice of KING JESUS CHRIST is still speaking long after HE died and resurrected only for those who know how to apply it.

“But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities. The chastisement for our shalom was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

“So Yeshua said to them, ‘Amen, amen I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves.’” John 6:53

“And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, ‘This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.’ 20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.’” Luke 22:19-20

7. Over time, morality, culture, the lives and ways of men, are determined by their altars. For those who attend to demonic altars, their hearts are evil; therefore, they practice manipulation, lawlessness, wickedness. When GOD rejected Cain’s altar and sin accepted it, the manifestation of sin was murdering Abel. 

When we attended to the altar of the Cross, the sacrifice of KING JESUS CHRIST’s BLOOD applies to us. As we begin to minister (attend) to this altar, it changes us. We start to love, forgive, help others, etc. 

As we walk through these 21 days, we will be dealing with hard truths. What altars are still speaking over you, your children, family, ministry, or community? Where did it start? What are the original speaking’s? If they are good, how can we tap into them? If they are bad, how can we break them?

As we examine altars this week, the LORD has laid it on our hearts to investigate family altars mentioned in the Bible. Today, we will be reviewing Jacob and Hezekiah.

To review Jacob’s family altar, we must start with his first encounter with his grandfather’s altar. Two generations before Jacob, his grandfather had set up an altar at a place named Luz, also famously referred to as Beth-El. As you read in Genesis 28 from verses 16 through 18, the encounter he had with ADONAI marked him greatly.

Investigative fact number one: Altars set up by at least two generations ahead can trap the presence of GOD in that place in the spirit. In the physical, there was nothing special with the space; he just needed a place to sleep, but his grandfather had opened a portal or gate and was able to secure access to the presence of GOD.

Moving on to Genesis 35, Jacob was instructed by the LORD to return to Beth-El and fulfil a promise he made in Genesis 28, verses 20 through 22.

“Then Jacob made a vow saying, ‘If God will be with me and watch over me on this way that I am going and provide me food to eat and clothes to wear, 21 and I return in shalom to my father’s house, then Adonai will be my God. 22 So this stone which I set up as a memorial stone will become God’s House, and of everything You provide me I will definitely give a tenth of it to You.’” Genesis 28:20-22

Investigative fact number two: We attract the attention of spirits when we activate any altar. Jacob attracted angels, and to his surprise, he even had a first-row seat with ADONAI HIMSELF! (See Genesis 28:13.) It is nice to have the presence of angels when we pray, but don’t get lost in that; seek and ask for an audience with KING JESUS HIMSELF.

Be mindful of the promises you make at the altar. The LORD will come back to collect on that promise. As we see in Genesis 35, Jacob and his family had picked up some bad habits; they had foreign idols they were worshiping. His family had to get rid of the gods and cleanse themselves (verses 2-4).

Investigative fact number three: We cannot come to the altar of the LORD in sin; we must repent.

This leads us to King Hezekiah, in the book of 2 Chronicles.

“They turned their faces away from Adonai’s dwelling place and turned their backs on Him. 7 They also shut the doors of the porch and put out the lamps. They did not burn incense or offering any burnt offerings in the Holy Place to the God of Israel. 8 Therefore, the wrath of Adonai was upon Judah and Jerusalem. He has made them an object of horror, dread, and scorn, as you are seeing with your own eyes.” 2 Chronicles 29:6-8

The people of Israel turned their backs on GOD and did not keep the fire burning on the altar. These were people who knew what to do, but the Levites and the priests neglected their duties. If you read through verses 12 to 16 of chapter 29, you will discover that the Levites and then the priests had to sanctify themselves (verse 15). Then the cleansing of the temple could proceed.

Investigative fact number four: We cannot start a GODly altar and still be a part of the world; sanctification (being set apart) is ultimate. We cannot be one with the world and say we want to service the altar. Jacob made sure his family separated itself from the idols they had gotten accustomed to. The Levites and priests needed to do the same.

“Behold, for this our fathers have fallen by the sword, and our sons, daughters and wives are in captivity. 10 Now it is in my heart to make a covenant with Adonai, the God of Israel, so that His fierce anger may turn away from us.” 2 Chronicles 29:9-10

The LORD put it in King Hezekiah’s heart to make a covenant. Remember, Jacob also made a promise to the LORD?

In summary, altars are active for at least two generations. What legacy or inheritance are we leaving behind for at least our grandchildren? This also means that any altar can be a gate to another dimension. Let us be aware of which gate we are opening. Both Jacob and King Hezekiah made promises (covenants) to the LORD. The altar attracts the attention of spirits; in our case, we attract the attention of KING JESUS and the host of heaven. The LORD will expect us to come back and fulfil that promise.

Lastly, repentance and sanctification go hand in hand and must take place before we can start burning sacrifices on the altar of the LORD. As a family, have we picked up foreign gods and defiled the LORD’s temple? Is our home defiled? Let us pray and ask the LORD to show us what displeases HIM within us and in our home so we can cleanse and put away (sanctify) ourselves.

Finally, seek an audience with KING JESUS HIMSELF. Having angels show up is exciting but gaining the attention of ADONAI?! This should be our very goal every time our altar is activated. ADONAI, we welcome YOU and usher in YOUR Presence. Amen.

A stretch of highway has multiple fatalities back-to-back over the course of several weeks. A household avoids destruction by a tornado, even though it is in the direct path of the storm. A family suddenly suffers continued bouts of illness and discord, seemingly out of nowhere. 

Have you ever wondered about occurrences such as these? Each situation is real. Each of these has happened. Why? Because altars have been established. And because altars speak. 

Let’s back up for just a minute and review some basics.

First, we know that the spiritual realm is causal, and the physical realm is reactionary. Everything that has manifested physically – what you see, hear, experience, etc. – had its beginnings, its origins, spiritually, whether for good or for evil. This principle was established by GOD at the very beginning of time.

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 TLV

“In the beginning was the Word. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 All things were made through Him, and apart from Him nothing was made that has come into being.” John 1:1-3 TLV

“By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen did not come from anything visible.” Hebrews 11:3 TLV

GOD (SPIRIT) created the heavens, the earth, the seasons, the processes, the systems, even time itself (the physical realm). At the beginning, GOD declared it to be “good.” However, at the entrance of sin into the world, the enemy proceeded to pervert that which GOD created. GOD required sacrifice…and so did the enemy. GOD required Blood…and so does the enemy. And so, the altar – the place of communion with a Holy DEITY or a demonic “deity” – the place of sacrifice – the place where covenants or agreements are established with the spiritual realm – speaks into the physical realm.

Altars built in righteousness to ADONAI speak blessings, favor, divine intervention, healing, and more. These altars release blessings through:

• Sacrificial obedience (see Genesis 8:20-22 and 1 Kings 3:3-13).
• Worship (see Psalm 22:4-5).
• Intercession (see 1 Kings 18:36-38).
• The power of the Blood of JESUS (see Hebrews 12:24).

Altars built to the demonic speak curses, bondage, destruction, death. The effects of these altars include:

• Curses, judgement, and destruction (see Exodus 20:3-5 and 1 Kings 13:1-5).
• Spiritual oppression (see Deuteronomy 12:2-3).
• Death for families and nations (see Psalm 106:36-38).
• Generational curses (see Judges 6:25-27). 

As a result of the altars that have been built to the spiritual, we see physical manifestation naturally. How do we recognize this in today’s society? Ask the HOLY SPIRIT to give you revelation and discernment into these questions:

1. What signs or symbols do you see?
2. What voices do you hear?
3. What patterns do you recognize?
4. What spirits do you feel?

“Call to Me, and I will answer you—I will tell you great and hidden things, which you do not know.” Jeremiah 33:3 TLV

“Loved ones, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see if they are from God. For many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1 TLV

As you are sensitive to the revelation and the discernment of the HOLY SPIRIT, you will begin to see, hear, experience, and recognize the altars that have been established in society – in schools, villages, cities, families, nations, institutions, segments of society (financial, entertainment, judicial, etc.). 

Whenever you are entering a place or a situation, be aware of what has established itself at the entrance, and you will recognize the altar that has been established. For instance:

• Immediately after the “welcome” sign to a town in Maryland is a psychic shop. This is an altar.
• In the airport of a major city in the United Kingdom, an advertisement stretches across an entire wall. Bigger than life, in the advertisement, is pictured a sorcerer. An altar has been established here, and sorcery is prevalent in the city.
• In another city, symbols of homosexuality grace the entrance to the train station. An altar has been established, and this city is given to perversion.
• Another major city welcomes visitors with signs and billboards of money and prosperity. An altar has been established to the “god” of money.

This is the same, not only for cities, but for amusement parks, churches, and more. One amusement park that my family visited encourages young children to participate in morning yoga and go on “magic” quests throughout the day. This particular location had just opened. While my children played in the water park, they witnessed a sorcerer performing incantations and spells to dedicate the park to the demonic. He was establishing an altar.

As for churches, there are some that, when you enter, the Presence of GOD is absolutely overwhelming. Testimonies of salvations, miracles, healings, and deliverance are normal. A righteous altar has been established. And then there are others that feel cold and uninviting or are attempting to put on a show to entertain. A demonic altar has been established.

Remember the scenarios at the beginning of this devotional? The pattern of highway fatalities indicates that a demonic altar had been established, and the same with the family that suffered sudden illness and discord. However, the household that was spared from the tornado had a righteous altar established within it that brought blessings and unexplainable protection.

And what about families? Culture? Children and youth? Are there patterns of depression, anxiety, autism? Are there patterns of suicide or self-mutilation? Are there patterns of nightmares and destruction? These are all signs of altars that have been established. In the coming days, we will discuss how to tear down demonic altars and how to build GODLY altars.

It is essential that the altars we establish are righteous altars to ADONAI that speak, not only on our behalf, but for this generation and generations to come.

Let us pray. LORD, I repent of every evil altar that I’ve come into agreement with, that is speaking in my life and in the life of my family. LORD, I dedicate and consecrate my life and resources to YOU, to establish altars of righteousness in my life, my home, my community, my territory, my generation, and the generations to come. In the Name of KING JESUS CHRIST I pray, amen and amen.

I apologize ahead of time; this is a long but necessary devotional. The goal of this fast is not just to set free, but to equip us with the knowledge we need to stay free and then free others by the word of our testimony of transformed lives.

Today, I want to share a testimony that many who have been with WeRemnant for a while know. Nevertheless, let’s share it here for the newbies.

At one of our WeRemnant conferences in Texas some years back, we met a lovely lady with two children. One of her children was a toddler girl who had never walked. Rather, she scooted around on her bum. The little girl was about 18 months old and was born in America. Doctors said the muscles in her legs were not strong enough to hold up her body; therefore, she would never walk without significant therapy and possible surgeries.

The mom came to the conference for prayer for her daughter. However, the LORD had us start praying for her, the mom, first. As we started, HE opened our eyes in the HOLY SPIRIT and we saw chains around the mom’s legs, and her legs looked like a fish’s tail in the spirit realm. Crazy!

As we continued to pray, we paused and asked questions. Did your family ever worship any water spirits (spirits that live in the waters), or any “deities.” The mom said when she was little, around 5 years old, her stepmother made her pour fresh water into a bowl every morning in front of a small statue (an idol). She said that she never understood it or cared about it. She just did as she was told.

We asked her to renounce those “gods,” and ask the LORD for forgiveness. She did. But nothing happened with her little girl. We told her to return the next day, as it was getting late. When she returned, we took time to ask more questions. She said she had tiny incisions going all the way down her back. When she asked her grandmother what they were for, the grandmother did not tell her. So, a fellow female prophet and I anointed her back and broke any blood agreements in the Name of KING JESUS CHRIST. We prayed for her little girl again. The LORD assured us, she would walk. But nothing happened during the conference.

We all flew back to our homes and moved on with life. In January of the following year, exactly on her second birthday, the little girl got up and started walking.  No therapy, no surgery. About three months later, the mother received her work permit, and about a year later, she got her green card. All delays in her life were completely canceled. 

What happened? Demonic altars. How did she get free? Holy altar.

To fully understand this case study, we need to first address those who believe and incorrectly apply the Scripture in 2 Corinthians 5:17, saying something like, “Well, I’m a new creation, none of these matters anymore. Old things have passed away.” Let’s look at that Scripture closely in context.

“Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:16-19

This Scripture is talking about reconciling us back to GOD through KING JESUS CHRIST. It’s talking about cleansing us from all unrighteousness and putting the “dirt” of sin on KING JESUS. This buys us access to stand before GOD and ask HIM to apply this newness to different areas of our lives.

When we accept KING JESUS as SAVIOR, HE gives us access to GOD. But after we get access to GOD, what do we do with it? Salvation is access.

If we received everything at the point of salvation, KING JESUS HIMSELF would not have told us to ask, seek, and knock. In addition, this concept is clear throughout Scripture. Let’s look.

“Thus says the Lord God: ‘I will also let the house of Israel inquire of Me to do this for them: I will increase their men like a flock.’” Ezekiel 36:37

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8

It is always interesting to me that even though salvation is free, freedom from sicknesses, diseases, addictions, harmful patterns, bad decisions, somehow, is not. Moreover, it seems that GOD puts the responsibility of accessing freedom on us.

When KING JESUS wanted to heal the man at the pool in Bethesda (John 5:1-18), HE asked him, “Do you want to be healed?” From there, HE gave the man instructions. It was up to the man to implement them. When he did, the healing virtue of GOD flowed into the man. Until he obeyed through his actions, nothing happened. Then KING JESUS said something amazing: “Stop sinning or something worse will come upon you.” Wow. That means sin caused this man’s sickness or at least could hinder his continued health.

“Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, ‘See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.’” John 5:14

How about formerly blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10:46-52 and Luke 18:35-43? Bartimaeus was already a believer. He called KING JESUS, “SON of DAVID.” Meaning, Bartimaeus knew HE was and still is the MESSIAH. But that knowledge didn’t cause him to see until he asked for his sight. Another interesting thing happened here after the healing. The Scripture says Bartimaeus followed the SON of DAVID. As in, he left his former life and started following KING JESUS everywhere.

“Then Jesus said to him, ‘Go your way; your faith has made you well.’ And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.” Mark 10:52

Back to our case study.

On Day 1, we defined holy vs. demonic altars. We also noted that Cain was the first person to set up a demonic altar. We also said that altars speak. We know the type of altar we are dealing with as soon as the spirits from the altar start to manifest – express themselves, speak – on the land, in the people and atmosphere.

In the case study, the demonic altar identified through the idol required a sacrifice of fresh water every morning, meaning it was a water spirit. The speaking of that altar was positive for some, possibly the stepmother, but negative for another, the lady (even though she was a child at the time). In the lady’s life, there was delay in key areas. But that could easily be explained away as heavy backlogs at the immigration office, missing paperwork, whatever. But the punishment or speaking of this demonic altar could not be overlooked on the daughter – she was unable to walk.

Quick sidebar. What things in your life can be easily explained away? Could there be something somewhere speaking against you?

Back to the case study. The issues of the little girl were major. The legs of the mother looked like fins in the spirit, but she was walking. It was her little girl who never worshiped a single idol that could not walk, inheriting the judgement of the mother.

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; 9 you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me” Deuteronomy 5:8-9

This lady was a CHRISTian. Yet this demonic altar was still speaking. At the time, I think she said her stepmom, who made her put out the fresh water for her idol, had since died. Yet, the altar was still speaking…until its voice was interrupted.

To interrupt the speaking of a demonic altar, we must first ask GOD for forgiveness. Remember 2 Corinthians 5:16-19? We must ask for GOD to apply this reconciliation to a particular situation. We must apologize for doing what HE hates. We must repent and renounce, then reclaim our freedom back from these demonic altars by commanding them to break, to stop speaking over our lives. Because we are now accessing the reconciliation power in CHRIST, GOD will back up our request.

But it does not stop there. Next, we must build a holy altar. How?

1. Commit in our hearts never to seek after any other gods.
2. Dedicate time and place where we go to seek GOD regularly.
3. In that location, declare, “This is the altar of the LORD. We silence the speaking of any other altar in the Name of KING JESUS CHRIST.”
4. Name the new holy altar – this altar speaks healing, divine health, wisdom from GOD. This altar speaks (add what you want) …. We say what we want the altar to say that aligns with Scripture.

An altar is also a place of remembrance. It reminds us of what GOD said HE would do and our part to play in it. Therefore, we write down all the things GOD promised and all the things we declared our altar to be.

I hope that after reading this, you are drawn to create your own personal altars that silence and stand against any demonic altars in your bloodline. In JESUS’ Name. Amen and amen.

Over the past few days, we’ve been diving into the concept of spiritual altars. Quick recap: An altar is a place where humanity and spirit-beings intersect—a legal spiritual gateway where permission is granted for a spirit-being or deity to intervene in the affairs of man. 

Every active altar has four essential elements:

• The Sacrifice – determined by the deity being worshiped
• The Location – which may be physical or spiritual
• The Elements of the Altar – items or conditions prescribed for worship
• The Priest – who maintains and services the altar

The priest plays a crucial role. In the Old Testament, priests, descendants of Aaron of the Tribe of Levi, were responsible for maintaining the sanctity of the altar, offering sacrifices to GOD on behalf of the people, teaching GOD’s law, and serving as intermediaries. Without a priest, the altar lies dormant, but not powerless. The moment someone rises to tend it again, the spiritual agreement made at that altar is reactivated.

This is particularly important when considering family altars or bloodline covenants. When a spiritual altar (GODly or ungodly) is erected in a family line, it remains registered in the spirit realm. If a priest within that bloodline continues to service that altar, the covenant attached to it will remain active and can affect subsequent generations whether they are aware of it or not. The priest carries the legal spiritual authority through their blood connection and alignment with the deity associated with that altar. They understand the terms of the covenant and seek to enforce it. Violating those terms can carry spiritual consequences. When one priest dies, the role is often passed down to the next in line, just as Aaron and his sons were ordained by GOD (see Exodus 28:1) to carry the priesthood forward.

The practices of Levitical priesthood in the Old Testament were only shadows of a greater altar that would be raised. When JESUS died on the cross, a new altar was made available for all. JESUS was not only the spotless LAMB, but also the ultimate HIGH PRIEST. Through HIS death and resurrection, HE met all the requirements of a living, speaking altar. And now, through HIM, we have direct access to the throne of GOD.

Hebrews 4:14-16 breaks it down for us:

“Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses... Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace.” Hebrews 4:14-16

When we confess JESUS as LORD and live consecrated lives, we activate this new altar. But more than that, we are drawn into a new identity. 

“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people…” 1 Peter 2:9

This means we no longer rely on a human priest to intercede for us. Through CHRIST, we have become priests. We have inherited the responsibility to maintain our spiritual altar, to offer sacrifices—not of animals, but of worship, obedience, and our very lives. Therefore, it is imperative that we present ourselves as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable before HIM.

“I urge you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice—holy, acceptable to God—which is your spiritual service.” Romans 12:1

The prophet’s role is to convey the mind of GOD, uphold the standard of holiness, preserve the integrity of the altar by confronting spiritual idolatry, and demonstrate GOD’s power. Take, for example, Elijah’s showdown with the prophets of Baal at Mount Carmel (see 1 Kings 18:20-38). Elijah called for Israel to desist from idolatry and entreat them to choose between GOD and Baal. He publicly demonstrated which deity was superior, when he called on GOD to come down through fire – and GOD answered.

So you see, the spiritual principles of altars and rules of engagement haven’t changed. CHRIST perfected and streamlined the process to allow us direct access to HIM. We no longer have to sacrifice the blood of goats, birds, and lamb. As HIS priests and prophets of a new covenant, we have the Blood of the LAMB, the Blood of sprinkling. In JESUS’ Name. Amen and amen.

The importance of altars cannot be overstated. On Day 1, we were reminded that altars are the meeting place between mankind and spirits. If you’ve ever heard the phrase, “life is spiritual,” there is biblical weight to that. The realities of this realm are first implemented through altars.

On Day 3, we explored how altars can speak and the need to walk circumspectly, discerning when an altar has been established. Today, we turn to the demands of the altar—understanding that altars are not just symbolic but require tending. To fully grasp this, we must look at the role of the priest.

EDEN AND THE FIRST PRIEST:

The first priest we encounter in Scripture is Adam, and Eden itself functions as the first altar. How do we know this? As established, altars are meeting places between man and spirit. In Genesis 1:28–30, GOD gives Adam instruction and blessing—spiritual transaction through relationship.

Genesis 2:15 says, “Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to cultivate it and tend it.”

Adam’s task wasn’t only agricultural—it was spiritual. He was maintaining an atmosphere for divine fellowship. His work and obedience were both sacred acts of worship.

DEMANDS OF THE ALTAR—OLD TESTAMENT CONTEXT:

Altars require sacrifice. In the Pentateuch, we are introduced to five types of offerings: grain, peace, sin, guilt, and burnt offerings. These served to strengthen the vertical relationship between humanity and GOD—whether for atonement, thanksgiving, or worship.

But a holy GOD demands more than ritual—HE desires purity. This is seen clearly in both the responsibilities of the priest as well as the quality of the sacrifice.

“...the burnt offering shall remain on the hearth on the altar all night until morning, and the fire on the altar is to be kept burning on it. … The fire on the altar shall be kept burning; it shall not go out… Fire shall be kept burning continually; it shall not go out.” Leviticus 6:9, 12-13

It's as if GOD wanted to drive the point deep: Keep the fire burning.

In Leviticus 6:10–11, GOD also addresses the priest’s garments, signaling the need for cleanliness in approaching HIM. Changing garments when handling ashes signifies that even residue from holy activity had to be dealt with carefully.

RELEVANCE TODAY—NEW TESTAMENT PRIEST: 

Why does this matter now?

"You also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 2:5

"Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus... through the veil, that is, His flesh..." Hebrews 10:19-20

JESUS’ sacrifice abolished the Levitical system, but it did not abolish the heart of its demands. We are now the Temple, and we are now the priests. So it is important for us to understand what the demands look like connecting the Levitical system and drawing parallels for the purpose of the present-day SPIRIT-filled Christian.

LIVING SACRIFICE: PARALLELS BETWEEN THE LEVITICAL AND NEW TESTAMENT ALTAR

Based off the Levitical system, we can identify at least three main demands of the altar: The appropriate sacrifice/offering, the maintenance of the fire and the cleanliness of the priest. 

1. Appropriate Sacrifice/Offering (Leviticus 1-5)

Of the five types of sacrifice, three deal with sin: burnt, sin, and guilt offerings. Burnt offerings were wholly consumed, representing the surrender of the sinful nature. Guilt offerings addressed not only sin but restitution, showing how sin affects others, not just GOD. Peace and grain offerings focused on gratitude, fellowship, and devotion. The animal offerings had this stipulation: without blemish.

How does this apply to the New Testament believer?

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:1-2

Paul describes the believer’s life as one crucified with CHRIST.

"It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me." Galatians 2:20

Because of CHRIST’s ultimate sacrifice (Hebrews 10:12), we are not called to offer sin and guilt offerings repeatedly—but to live in surrender, allowing every part of us to be available for GOD's use.

When we take communion, we participate in what parallels the peace offering—a moment of fellowship, remembrance, and intimacy. The grain offering now reflects our work and daily responsibilities. As Colossians 3:23 reminds us,

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Colossians 3:23

Even in our jobs, giving, and daily choices, we offer spiritual sacrifices. And the quality of this is to be without blemish as the Levitical laws imply. 

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts….” James 4:8

A sacrifice with a clean, pure heart is only achieved by the indwelling of the HOLY SPIRIT. This is why JESUS says in Matthew 5:8 that the pure in heart are blessed because they will see GOD. 

2. Maintenance of the Fire (Leviticus 6)

“The fire on the altar shall be kept burning; it shall not go out… Fire shall be kept burning continually; it shall not go out.” Leviticus 6:12-13

The priests were to keep the fire burning all day and all night. For the New Testament believer, we maintain FIRE through our spiritual disciplines. 

• Prayer: JESUS says in Luke 18:1 that we “ought always to pray.” Paul echoes this in 1 Thessalonians 5:17: “pray without ceasing.”
• Fasting: In Matthew 9:15, JESUS explains that HIS followers will fast when the BRIDEGROOM (JESUS) is taken.
• The Word: Acts 6:4 highlights the apostles’ devotion to prayer and the ministry of the Word. In John 15, JESUS stresses the necessity of abiding in HIM—and HE is the WORD (John 1:1).
• Meditation: David says in Psalm 119:11, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.”

Without fuel, spiritual fire dies. Our commitment to prayer, fasting, studying, worship, and obedience keeps the altar of our hearts burning for GOD.

3. Cleanliness of the Priest

In Zechariah 3:1–5, we see a vivid image of the high priest, Joshua, standing before the LORD, clothed in filthy garments while satan stands to accuse him. But GOD rebukes satan and commands Joshua’s garments be replaced with clean robes:

“See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.” Zechariah 3:4

Our cleanliness before GOD still matters—not for ritual, but for relational access. Worship is a type of offering, and JESUS tells the Samaritan woman that true worshippers must worship “in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). Holiness also matters because we are the sacrifice. Unlike the Levitical priests, we don’t “put on” and “take off” our holy garments—we are called to walk in righteousness continually.

“Walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16

We aren’t just offering a part of life to GOD. Our entire being is now set apart for HIM. Thus, we are always servicing the altar.

CLOSING:

We could explore each of these dimensions even deeper, but the heart of the message is this: From the moment we wake to the time we sleep, our lives are lived as sacrifices unto GOD.

So, we must partner with the HOLY SPIRIT in the pursuit of righteousness in order to live and be intentional with spiritual disciplines to keep the FIRE burning.

As the FIRE continues to burn, it refines us—removing the impurities and patterns we inherited. Through this daily offering, we fulfill GOD’s ultimate desire for us.

“For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son.” Romans 8:29

PRAYER

LORD, YOU have ordained us to be priests, called to be conformed to the image of YOUR SON, JESUS CHRIST. Grant us the strength, zeal, fervency and consistency to keep the FIRE of the altar burning. Stir our hearts to hunger and thirst for righteousness. Let every part of our lives—our work, our worship, our walk—be pleasing to YOU. In JESUS’ Name, amen.

As we continue to dismantle demonic altars and build GODLY altars to our ADONAI, we come bringing our burnt offerings – symbolizing our complete dedication – and our peace offerings – signifying our fellowship with and gratitude to HIM.

According to the Word of ADONAI in Exodus 20:24, we are to build altars in the place where we are reminded of Who HE is and what HE has done. It is in that place that HIS blessings, favor, deliverance, and every good thing we desire are found.

“The altars you make for me must be simple altars of earth. Offer on such altars your sacrifices to me – your burnt offerings, your sheep and goats and your cattle. Build altars in the places where I remind you who I am, and I will come and bless you there. 25 If you use stones to build my altar, use only natural, uncut stones. Do not shape the stones with a tool, for that would make the altar unfit for holy use.” Exodus 20:24-25 NLT

There are many types of altars, but here are just a few along with their characteristics:

1. Altar of Remembrance: This altar is to honor GOD and what HE has done. In other words, to build spiritual memory, bringing to mind the awesome deeds of the LORD and to honor HIS Name.  “These stones shall be a memorial to the children of Israel forever.” Joshua 4:7

Characteristics:

• Commemorates divine intervention (Genesis 8:20; Exodus 17:15)
• Inspires faith in future generations (Psalm 78:4-7)
• Encourages worship and thanksgiving (1 Chronicles 16:12)

2. Altar of Mercy: This altar is to receive forgiveness, compassion, and restoration. “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence...” Hebrews 4:16

Characteristics:

• It is a place of GOD's compassion and forgiveness (Psalm 103:8; Hebrews 4:16)
• Accessed through the blood of JESUS (Romans 3:25; Hebrews 12:24)
• A place of intercession (Hebrews 7:25)
• A refuge for the guilty (Isaiah 55:7; Psalm 32:7)
• Overrides judgment (James 2:13; Psalm 103:10)
• A platform for healing and restoration (Psalm 147:3; Malachi 3:7)
• Open to all who call on GOD (Romans 10:13; Psalm 145:9)

3. Altar of Vengeance: To seek GOD’s justice in the face of oppression or spiritual attacks. “O Lord God, to whom vengeance belongs, show Yourself.” Psalm 94:1

Characteristics:

• A place where divine justice is invoked (Deuteronomy 32:35; Romans 12:19)
• GOD fights on behalf of the oppressed (Exodus 14:14; Psalm 35:1-6)
• A response to persistent injustice (Isaiah 61:8; Revelation 6:10)

4. Altar of Sacrifice: To surrender your will and life fully to GOD.  “Present your bodies as a living sacrifice...” Romans 12:1

Characteristics:

• A symbol of complete surrender (Genesis 22:9-12; Romans 12:1)
• An act of worship and obedience (Philippians 2:17; 1 Samuel 15:22)
• Involves self-denial and yielding to GOD (Matthew 16:24)

5. Altar of Judgment: The place where GOD deals not only with enemies and evil but also with the hearts of HIS people. The Place of Divine Confrontation.

Characteristics:

• Before GOD can elevate, HE often confronts. Elijah built an altar on Mount Carmel, and fire fell—not to destroy Israel, but to judge the lies of Baal and call the people back (1 Kings 18:38-39). GOD's fire refines those who are willing and consumes what hinders HIS Glory.
• It is a place where motives are weighed. The altar is not just about what we do, but why we do it. GOD's judgment pierces beyond behavior to intentions and motives.
• A call to self-examination: The altar of judgment invites us to examine ourselves now—to ask the hard questions before GOD has to. “If we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment.” 1 Corinthians 11:31
• A place of mercy in the midst of justice. Even as judgment falls, mercy is offered. At Calvary—the ultimate altar of judgment—sin was judged, but grace was released. JESUS took what we deserved so we could receive what HE deserved.

6. Breaking Evil Altars: To destroy demonic or ungodly altars affecting our lives or lineage. “Tear down the altar of Baal that your father has...” Judges 6:25

Characteristics:

• Must be torn down and replaced with GODly altars (Judges 6:25-27)
• Linked to spiritual bondage and ancestral ties (Exodus 34:13; 2 Kings 23:15)
• Broken by prayer, fasting, and the blood of JESUS (Isaiah 58:6; Revelation 12:11)

Altars are not just physical places—they are spiritual platforms for encounter, sacrifice, transformation, and divine transaction. May we build altars that honor the LORD, reflect our surrender, and open our lives to HIS Presence and power.

Last week, we learned about altars and their characteristics. We also learned that they speak long after those who established them by sacrifice to spirits – demonic or Holy – are dead. This week, we will discuss how to silence their speaking’s and demolish the altar.  These are two different things. Let’s learn what that means from Scripture.

Testimony (Case Study) Time: Silencing an Altar.

One of our prayer warrior sisters and her family lives in Florida. For anyone who knows anything about States in America, Florida is very prone to hurricanes. Hurricanes form over warm ocean waters, so Florida is in the perfect location for them. Not once, but twice since I have known this sister, her home was in the eye of a hurricane coming through. These hurricanes do great damage to homes, properties, and even cause loss of life. Our sister’s home was projected to be in the center of a particular Category 4 hurricane coming through.

She called, prayed with one of our prophets, and the prophet confirmed what the LORD had already told our sister to do. Go to the edge of the ocean, which was not far from her home, and pray. Command the hurricane to miss her community, in the Name of KING JESUS CHRIST. Then go to your home, anoint the front and back doors, declaring the protection of GOD over your home.

The results? The hurricane changed direction and missed her community. The only thing that came by them were light rains. Her home, untouched.

Now, whenever a hurricane or storm is expected to come through, she has a process. Either she goes to the ocean and speaks, or she stays at home and speaks. Either way, it works every year.

What happened here? Altars.

Let’s dissect this case study. There are spirits in the waters (see Exodus 20:1-6, Revelation 5:13, Genesis 1:26-27, 1 Samuel 5:1-5, Matthew 8:23-27, and Luke 8:22-25). We will do a deeper study on water spirits in another devotional. These spirits are not allowed to come on land.

“The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the earth He has given to the children of men.” Psalm 115:16

The only way the winds and waves of the sea come to land is if agreements were made by sacrifice on altars giving these spirits permission. Remember, altars are places that give spirits legal rights to function in bloodlines, in territories, etc. We discussed this in Week 1.

“'Do you not fear Me?’ says the Lord. ‘Will you not tremble at My presence, Who have placed the sand as the bound of the sea, By a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass beyond it? And though its waves toss to and fro, Yet they cannot prevail; Though they roar, yet they cannot pass over it.’” Jeremiah 5:22

What our sister did was silence the speaking’s (forbid the effects) of the altars that allowed the winds that produce hurricanes to come to her home, her community, her land. KING JESUS CHRIST did the same thing in Matthew 8:23-27 and Luke 8:22-25 when HE spoke to the wind and the sea.

“They came to Yeshua and woke Him, saying, ‘Master, Master, we’re perishing!’ He got up and rebuked the wind and the surging wave of water. Then they stopped, and it became calm.” Luke 8:24

But then you might ask, where was the altar here? The man who contained the legion of demons (Luke 8:26-34). Isn’t it strange that when KING JESUS gave permission for the demons to enter the pigs, they drove the pigs into the water and drowned them. Why? Because the demons were more comfortable in the water. Water spirits. 

From the teachings of Week 1, remember an altar is a place of spirits meeting with mankind. In this situation, the man was the altar.

Back to the case study.

Even though at the time, our sister didn’t know she was silencing the speaking’s of an altar she did not erect, it silenced none-the-less. How much more powerful is it when we know the altars and their locations, and/or their timelines? Amen and amen.

In summary, silencing an altar means to prevent it from speaking over your life, family, community, etc. But silencing is continuous, because the altar is still present. It can speak again. To break the altar and end its speaking’s, it will take more than one person. It will take a territorial authority that requires corporate rank and unity.

Biblical Case Study: Dismantling an Altar.

Here is a case study of dismantling (breaking) a territorial altar from Scripture that we can review.

“And behold, a man of God went from Judah to Bethel by the word of the Lord, and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense. 2 Then he cried out against the altar by the word of the Lord, and said, ‘O altar, altar! Thus says the Lord: “Behold, a child, Josiah by name, shall be born to the house of David; and on you he shall sacrifice the priests of the high places who burn incense on you, and men’s bones shall be burned on you.” ’  3 And he gave a sign the same day, saying, ‘This is the sign which the Lord has spoken: Surely the altar shall split apart, and the ashes on it shall be poured out.’ 4 So it came to pass when King Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, who cried out against the altar in Bethel, that he stretched out his hand from the altar, saying, ‘Arrest him!’ Then his hand, which he stretched out toward him, withered, so that he could not pull it back to himself. 5 The altar also was split apart, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the Lord. 6 Then the king answered and said to the man of God, ‘Please entreat the favor of the Lord your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me.’” 1 Kings 13:1-6

Notice the prophet dealt with the altar. The altar is what powered Jeroboam. The prophet spoke by the direction of the LORD and GOD backed him up. Even though the altar broke into two and the ashes fell out, that was just a sign. The actual breaking of the altar would happen in the days of King Josiah. Why? Because breaking a demonic altar means destroying the priests, the systems they created, and thought processes they taught.

When Josiah came around, he killed all the demonic priests, he tore down their high places, and then he reinstituted the service of the LORD and the reading of Scripture (see 2 Kings 22). The beginning of that was identificational repentance.

When Josiah set his heart to repair the House of GOD, it released a Grace on him. I know it pleased our FATHER. How? Because suddenly, the Book of the Law of Moses was found – the first five books of our Bibles. When GOD reveals HIS Word to us, HE is showing us love and mercy, because then we have the opportunity to keep HIS Laws so HE does not destroy us. But I digress.

“Then Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, ‘I have found the Book of the Law in the house of the Lord.’ And Hilkiah gave the book to Shaphan, and he read it. …  10 Then Shaphan the scribe showed the king, saying, ‘Hilkiah the priest has given me a book.’ And Shaphan read it before the king. 11 Now it happened, when the king heard the words of the Book of the Law, that he tore his clothes.” 1 Kings 22:8,10-11

King Josiah sent them to inquire of the LORD through Huldah the prophetess, who delivered the Word from the LORD.

“But as for the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the Lord, in this manner you shall speak to him, ‘Thus says the Lord God of Israel: “Concerning the words which you have heard— 19 because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before the Lord when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they would become a desolation and a curse, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you,” says the Lord.’” 2 Kings 22:18-19

The king repented. He repented on behalf of his nation, his ancestors, all they did to transgress the laws of GOD and arouse HIS wrath. Unfortunately for Judah, it was not enough. But as for King Josiah, the LORD took him early so he would not be alive in the season of judgement.

A similar thing happened with Nehemiah. When he heard about the suffering of his people, he repented on their behalf.

“And I said: ‘I pray, Lord God of heaven, O great and awesome God, You who keep Your covenant and mercy with those who love You and observe Your commandments, 6 please let Your ear be attentive and Your eyes open, that You may hear the prayer of Your servant which I pray before You now, day and night, for the children of Israel Your servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel which we have sinned against You. Both my father’s house and I have sinned.’” Nehemiah 1:5-6

For us today, we cannot dismantle (break) the demonic altars in our bloodline without apologizing they existed and turning away from them – renouncing both positive and negative effects.

As we work on demolishing satanic (demonic – legally established evil) altars this week, let’s start repenting. Like Nehemiah, repent on behalf of your family and all you are standing for this week. Amen and amen. 

Pick up your weapon! 

Writing today’s devotion has had my mind on so many sections of Colossians 2. Let us look at this chapter and concentrate on verses 14 and 15 (emphasis added).

“He wiped out the handwritten record of debts with the decrees against us, which was hostile to us. He took it away by nailing it to the cross. 15 After disarming the principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in the cross.” Colossians 2:14-15

There are HANDWRITTEN records of debts with decrees attached to them against every one of us. First, what is a decree? A decree is an official order issued by a legal authority. That defeated foe collected receipts against us; there was no way he was going to let GOD get away with not punishing us.

The decrees against us were hostile towards us; it meant punishment, even death for some of us. But JESUS took away those decrees along with the HANDWRITTEN debts satan brought – I bet his handwriting is ugly! But I digress. JESUS nailed them all to the cross, hallelujah!

Remember the decree King Xerxes put his seal on in the book of Esther? Even though Haman was punished, the decree still had to be carried out; the Jews still had to be killed. But since Esther went to the king asking for help, the Jews were allowed to pick up weapons and fight!

Now the Cross was a public death; it was on a hill, and JESUS was naked for all to see. The devil wanted to embarrass HIM and shame our LORD…but the joke was on him! JESUS made a series of public ‘statements’ against ALL principalities and powers, using the Cross, and HIS death. In the same way, the Jews were allowed to pick up weapons and fight against the powers that came against them that in the time of King Xerxes, we also now have access to spiritual weapons (see 2 Corinthians 10:2 and Ephesians 6:11).

Principalities and powers – who and what are these entities, and why did JESUS have to disarm them?

Per the Greek dictionary, principalities are the beginning, rulers, rule, corners, domain, elementary, and first. Powers are authority, power, right, authorities, domain, charge, and control. Have you ever seen a ruler without power? They both come hand-in-hand, so JESUS had to make sure all rulers with authority and power got disarmed. HE could not let them get the upper hand over us. This leveled the playing field for us, meaning they operate in the spirit while we are stuck in the flesh. 

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the worldly forces of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12

Was the wiping away of the HANDWRITTEN debts and decrees against us not good enough? Just as we see in the story of Esther, even though Haman was caught and punished. There will always be a struggle; satan refuses to give up, but neither do we, right?

“From the days of John the Immerser until now, the kingdom of heaven is treated with violence, and the violent grasp hold of it.” Matthew 11:12

I am feeling feisty writing this today! We must take on the fight; we cannot shy away. We will NOT give an inch of the Kingdom of Heaven over to satan; we will be violent and grab every part of it by force! The same way the Jews fought that night, we pick up our weapons and demolish every principality and power in our way.

Glory to JESUS, HE has handed us victory before we even knew we needed it. He has given us HIS BIG upper hand. In Esther’s story, the Jews were done for; they would not have been able to defend themselves, but the king gave them access to the weapons, and their enemies had now become the king’s enemy.

I hear the song: The LION of Judah has broken every yoke, HE has given us the victory again and again!

Amen.

In our continued study of altars during this 21-day fast, the first week we laid the groundwork as we identified necessary information regarding altars – purpose, characteristics, GODLY altars, demonic altars, etc. This week, we have been focusing specifically on destroying satanic altars, which brings us to our current topic.

How do we practically stop the speaking’s of and/or destroy satanic altars? Are there prophetic acts that we can carry out that will exert power and authority over these altars? Well, I’m glad you asked! Yes, there are!

Today we delve into deliberate prophetic acts against satanic altars.

The Essentials

It is necessary to note that none of these is a “catch-all” or an exact formula or rote process. It is essential to ask the LORD to reveal HIS strategy – HIS purpose, done in HIS time, according to HIS designated process and will.

In 2 Samuel 5:17-25, we see that David, before he went to battle, would ask the LORD, first, if he should pursue his enemies, and then, for the LORD’s strategy. The strategy would differ – maybe come against the enemy head-on, or maybe plant ambushes from behind. Similarly, we must seek the Word of the LORD, to follow the Way of the LORD, according to the Will and timing of the LORD, such that the Work of the LORD will be fully accomplished. It is dangerous if any of these is out of alignment – just ask Moses, who struck the rock instead of speaking to it (the Way of the LORD). As a result, the miracle happened, but Moses was not allowed to enter the Promised Land (see Numbers 20:1-13) because he dishonored the LORD.

And so, you have prophetic acts such as putting flour in a pot to heal the food that was causing death (see 2 Kings 4:38-41). But does this mean that we add flour every time food makes a person sick? Of course not! And then you have a mass march for seven days to knock down the wall of a city (see Joshua 6). Does this mean that we should always march around an altar for seven days and expect it to randomly collapse? Of course not!

You get the idea.... ASK THE LORD what to do and follow HIS instructions.

Deliberate Prophetic Acts

Here is a brief overview of some prophetic acts with biblical strategy that are effective in demolishing satanic altars.

1. Speak the Word of GOD.

“‘…let the one who has My word speak My word in truth.…’ It is a declaration of Adonai. ‘Is not My word like fire?’ says Adonai, ‘or like a hammer that shatters rock?’” Jeremiah 23:28-29 TLV 

Ask the HOLY SPIRIT to reveal the specific passages of Scripture to proclaim over the wicked altar. The Word of GOD is a sword, a fire, a hammer. When you speak the Word of GOD, it pierces through the wickedness of the altar (see Jeremiah 51:20; Proverbs 18:21).

This Word may include prophetically tearing the magic charms and the veils off of women who hunt down the souls of the righteous (see Ezekiel 13:18-23). Or it may include causing the oppressor to eat his own flesh and drink his own blood as sweet wine (see Isaiah 49:26). Warfare is not pretty – it is bloody. And prophetically demolishing spiritual satanic altars also calls for warring against the priests of the altars – the witches, warlocks, sorcerers, oppressors – such that the altar cannot be resurrected.

Practical example: An intercessor was praying over a specific territory, asking the LORD to demolish the altars in the land. The HOLY SPIRIT gave Scripture and strategy, and proceeded to pray through her that, even if a church building was a demonic altar, the building would be destroyed! Within a week, she was at a meeting in a city in that very territory. At the meeting, a pastor, who was known to fleece the flock, described how a torrential rain came against his church building and caused an exterior wall to collapse! He no longer had a usable church building! That church was being used as a demonic altar.

2. Intercede regularly, corporately, over territories.

When praying over territories, it takes a corporate body coming together and praying, interceding, warring regularly in corporate unity. Why? There are many reasons. Territory, land, was cursed at the beginning – in the Garden of Eden (see Genesis 3:17). Innocent blood shed on the ground still speaks (speaking’s of the wicked altar – see Genesis 4:10-12). In the past generations, demons were worshipped on that land or territory. Through prayer, revelation, and study, the HOLY SPIRIT will reveal the demons that were worshipped on the land previously – and what needs to be broken, confessed, renounced, etc.

Practical example: I know of an intercessory team that has regularly interceded over a specific territory. They prayed according to Scripture, redeeming the land and the blood that had been spilt, replacing it prophetically with the Blood of JESUS. During one of their prayer times, the HOLY SPIRIT began to pray that every structure that was raised as a demonic altar be torn down – including monuments, bridges, etc. – and that it would be reported in the news. During that very prayer time, one of them received a notification from a news agency. The bridge that allowed ships in and out of the harbor of the city had collapsed! This very bridge itself was a satanic altar at the entrance to the city. 

3. Anoint with oil.

Oil is a symbol of the HOLY SPIRIT (see Psalm 23:5; Isaiah 61:1-11). Anointing with oil is a symbolic action that is prophetically used to do many things – one of which is to break yokes and bring freedom.

“…And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.” Isaiah 10:27b NKJV

As the HOLY SPIRIT leads, anoint your home, your land, your territory, with anointing oil that has been dedicated to ADONAI. Proclaim the Word of GOD while you do this, issuing the speaking’s of wicked altars null and void and tearing down demonic altars.

Practical example: One of the prophetic intercessors walked to the entrance of her property. There she found a small pile of foreign pebbles which had been hidden underneath a larger item. Recognizing it as a wicked altar, she immediately kicked it down, destroying the physical altar (see 2 Kings 23:12-20). Anointing that place with anointing oil invites the power of the HOLY SPIRIT to break the yoke, curse, or spell associated with that altar, thus bringing freedom to the intercessor and her family.

4. Blow the shofar.

The shofar, or trumpet, is made of a ram’s horn. One of the purposes of blowing a shofar (or playing a video of someone blowing a shofar) is to call on ADONAI to release HIS angelic armies to go with us to war and aid in the destruction of demonic altars.

“When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.” Numbers 10:9

Practical example: A minister’s family, called to a specific territory, would consistently face battles when entering that territory. For instance, he got a flat tire in the middle of an extremely busy highway on his way to the territory; his wife fell off of a curb, almost knocking her head on concrete; he fell down steps and injured himself so badly that he needed surgery; etc. One of the prophets recommended that he play a shofar every time he entered the territory. He proceeded to do so, and to date, those battles have ceased. Why? Because the sound of the shofar activated angelic armies to guard against the speaking’s of satanic altars, in accordance with the command of ADONAI.

These are just a few prophetic acts to deliberately stop the speaking’s of and/or demolish satanic altars. Next week, we will discuss additional prophetic acts to establish righteous altars.
